Title
Breaking Quantum and Thermal Limits on Precision Measurements
Abstract
In the context of precision measurement, what can we do with many atoms that we cannot do with one? To explore this question, we use cavity-QED to create entanglement and correlations between many atoms, breaking the standard quantum limit by a factor of 60 and overcoming thermal limits on laser frequency stability. Exploiting many-atom physics may enable next-generation atomic clocks and atom interferometers for discovery of new physics.
