Title
The Birth of Non-Stellar Neutrino Astronomy
Abstract
Cosmic particles at the highest energies travel to Earth from deep space. The questions about their origins and the nature of the acceleration mechanisms have puzzled astronomers for over a century. The very first association of high energy neutrinos and electromagnetic waves coming from an extra-galactic source has been recently announced. I will report about the first evidence of a source of high-energy cosmic neutrinos.
