Title

Forward Modeling Galaxies and Supermassive Black Holes

Abstract

In order to build a physics-based account of how galaxies formed and evolved together with their central supermassive black holes, we need to be able to forward model the processes involved. I will present ways in which we can do this using a combination of phenomenological models and artificial intelligence. Using such models, we can explore how black holes interact with their host galaxies and how galaxies turn off their star formation.
