Title

Is the Electron Round?

Abstract

We use YbF molecules to search for the electric dipole moment of the electron, which is a way to search for new CP-violating physics beyond the standard model. I will review the status of experiments, which currently probe energies up to about 10 TeV. I will report on our recent progress in laser cooling molecules. This opens major new areas of research including a huge enhancement of the eEDM search so that it can probe up to 100 TeV or above.
