Title

The dance of the muon

Abstract

The muon‘s anomalous magnetic moment is an example of efforts that use muons as a window to search for new particles. It is being measured with increasing precision by the Fermilab g-2 experiment. The theoretical prediction must account for the effects of all known particles, including those of hadrons, which dominate the theory error. I will discuss recent puzzles and the ongoing interplay between theory and experiment that is essential to unlocking the discovery potential of this effort.
