Title

Is it the Higgs Boson?

Abstract

The ATLAS and CMS collaborations observed an excess of events above the expected background, with a local significance of 5.0 sigma, at a mass near 125 GeV, signaling the production of a new particle. The decay of this new particle to two photons indicates that it must be a boson, with spin different from one. But is this the Standard Model Higgs boson? The most recent experimental results on the Higgs search will be presented together with an outlook of the future perspectives.
